The following list of countries in the 10/40 Window results from careful research by experts who study the spiritual needs of the world’s most unreached populations. Each nation in this region poses unique challenges and opportunities for spreading the message of Christ.
16 kwi 2021 · Missions. Unreached People Groups. More than three billion people today do not have easy access to the gospel, 97% of which live in a geographic zone called the “10/40 Window.”.
The updated 10/40 Window country list includes nations that have a large number of unreached people groups and are close to 10°N and 40°N latitude. The updated country list also removes countries that have a large Christian population.
The revised 10/40 Window removes several Christianized countries such as South Korea and the Philippines and includes several additional countries, such as Indonesia, that are close to 10 or 40 degrees north latitude and have high concentrations of unreached peoples.
The 10/40 Window represents a rectangular region of the world, stretching from 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. This area encompasses over 60 countries, including parts of Asia and Africa, and holds special significance in missions.
Roughly two-thirds of the world population lived in the 10/40 Window, and it is predominantly Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, animist, or atheist. Many governments in the 10/40 Window are officially or unofficially opposed to Christian missionary work of any kind within their borders. [1] [3] [4]
