2 sie 2019 · In windows 10, I have the option between 16 to 32bit on my Topping D30 DAC. Should I set it to 32 bit 44khz, 24/44 or 16/44? I've learned that I should set the bit depth to maximum my hardware is capable of and set the hz to 44khz because I only listen to redbook materials at the moment.
28 mar 2022 · DSD is the cherry on top of the audiophile cake. It has a sample rate and bit depth of 1-bit/2.8224 MHz, which means it samples audio 2,822,400 times every single second. That is an immense amount of data. Theoretically speaking, it’s also the closest you can get to the original sound recording.
22 sie 2024 · Record high-resolution audio, on the other hand, and you’ll take a step up to 24 bits, with a sample taken as often as 192,000 times per second, making for 24-bit/192kHz recordings.
No DAC on the market has even 24Bit of real performance (noise free), the Benchmark DAC3 is around 21Bit I believe. However, the DAC chips being used (from ESS, AKM, etc.) can be 32Bit, and that’s partially to state they can support it, but mainly to have better digital volume control capabilities.
Basically, the source file dictates what you should set the DAC to. It’s not going to totally ruin things if it’s set one way or another for 44.1 files at 48 or vice versa, but it does cause certain minor issues.
24 paź 2019 · Since your Audioengine D1 DAC isn’t MQA-capable, the bottom line is that 24/96 playback is the best you can expect from Tidal Masters files. For many listeners, that should be sufficient to satisfy their hi-res audio craving.
21 lis 2007 · Some CD players use multibit DACs (the bits are read in groups), and some use 1 bit DACs, where the bits are read one at a time. Having several DACs (one for each channel) is also becoming fashionable. Although 1 bit DACs are a modern trend, they are more susceptible to noise than multibit DACs.
