My dad loves to watch Jerry Springer and anything with unnecessary drama really. He's not white trash, typically quiet, and hates any sort of drama in his personal life. But the likes of Jerry Springer brings a big smile to his face along with a hearty laugh. My wife grew up in Indonesia.

The Gallaghers are literally a representation of the "white trash" that populate lots of the US. Not only that, but the show is controversial and has included all sorts of social issues into the plot in the same "dark" manner; abortion, rape, homosexuality, incest, drugs and so on.
Great documentary. Watched it last year after hearing Johnny Knoxville talk about it on XM. Nothing like watching white trash snort Vicodin off of a toilet seat at a redneck bar while talking about Jesus.
