The base 4.0 liter V6 continued with 210 horsepower, while the GT retained the 300 horsepower 4.6 liter V8 from the 2007 car. The Shelby Mustang GT featured a reworked version of that 4.6 V8 with some additional go fast Ford Racing parts to bump it up to 319 horsepower.
