23 lis 2014 · I've recently replaced a 2003 Duramax (seized) with a low mile 2002 Duramax. Problem I'm having is that I'm reading VERY low oil pressure on the stock gauge. No check engine light or anything like that and the engine is running top notch.
1 mar 2012 · Everyone with a Duramax has been concerned with the Duramax oil pressure at sometime. As long as it has 12-15 lbs at idle-- nothing to worry about. The turbo boost has nothing to do with oil pressure-- it is the engine speed, oil viscosity, and oil temperature that will affect the oil pressure.
27 lip 2014 · Minimum operating specs are 14 psi @ idle and 42 psi @ 1800 rpm (engine at operating temp in both cases) so if you actually got those readings I would be getting ready to change out that oil pump soon. Make sure you're running 15W40 until you get it replaced too.

14 maj 2021 · The oil I used is the Rotella full synthetic. I don't remember the pressure before but of late the leak is getting worst and the pressure is at 60psi cold and running down the road warm is 30psi. At a stop it drops to just above the red lines for low pressure.
11 cze 2008 · Yes, the hot pressures are about 25 psi at idle, and 50-60 at cruising speed. I recall, several years ago, there were posts on this site that noted that with the 2003 model year, the oil pressure relief valve on the LB7 was changed to produce lower oil pressures than on the 2001-02 engines.
