WHED is a unique database that provides authoritative information on higher education systems and institutions worldwide. Access WHED to explore the world of higher education at your fingertips.
WHED is a reliable source of information on around 21,000 higher education institutions (HEIs) in 196 countries and territories. It provides data on education systems, credentials, officers, divisions, degrees, statistics and publications of each HEI.
A CD-ROM book published by the International Association of Universities with the collaboration of UNESCO, containing directories and yearbooks of higher education institutions in different regions and countries. The book is available in the UNESCO Library with the call number CD R 378 (100).
IAU, an international association of higher education institutions and organizations, provides free access to the WHED and HEDBIB databases until August 2020. The WHED and HEDBIB are online portals with information and references on higher education systems, degrees, policies and publications worldwide.
Brings together data from the International Handbook of Universities and additional institutions offering at least a post-graduate degree or a four year professional diploma, to provide a cross-referenced and searchable database featuring information on institutions in more than 180 countries.
The IAU WHED Portal provides authoritative information on higher education systems, credentials and over 20,800 officially accredited or recognized higher education institutions in 196 countries and territories. Each HEI listed has a unique identifier: the Global WHED ID, and IAU Members benefit from enhanced visibility and services.
