18 wrz 2008 · When I plug in external USB drives (harddrives, or thumbdrives), Windows does not seem to recognize the devices. One external harddrive caused Windows to display a popup that said it didn’t have the appropriate drivers.
16 paź 2011 · I think it would be necessary to replace the whole USB driver interface, i.e. at least the ones listed in usb.inf, usbport.inf and usbstor.inf. It would be necessary to compare 2K and Whistler 2430.1 files, check all differences and replace the ones from 2K completely.

28 kwi 2009 · Windows 2000 SP4 has lost it's mind, and it is causing me to lose mine! Bottom line: I think a recent windows update messed up the USB drivers on my machine. I cannot install simple "plug-and-play" USB devices on the machine. Details follow.
7 paź 2018 · When attempting to install W2K Pro on modern Intel hardware, the OS tries (unsuccessfully) to use that hardware's newer USB drivers. You need to force it to use the older USB drivers.
Windows 2000 does not find Drivers for USB storage devices. In a new installation I have all the drivers well installed in the Device Manager. The USB 2.0 is SiS chipset. Now I insert a storage device into the USB port. Then Windows 2000 says a new device has been found.
