  1. 22 wrz 2013 · W3EDP’s objective was to build a multi-band antenna. Today, the W3EDP antenna is a favorite of many QRP (low power operation) aficionados because it is simple, compact, and easy to deploy.

One way to make the Fuchs antenna multi-band, is to add selectable taps on the primary and/or the secondary side of the transformer. Further "tuning" can be done with a variable capacitor across the selected tap of the antenna-side winding of the transformer and the "bottom" of that winding.

  4. W3EDP - VA3QV Antenna or Siegel-Sharp Antenna. A cheap, multi‐band HF antenna for a small city lot – and also a good antenna for Field‐Day. Presented to LARC by Ian Seddon, VE3HUT. FIG 2 – Design Considerations. Space limitations around the house preclude a centre‐fed wire antenna – e.g. a dipole.

  5. The W3EDP multi-band HF wire antenna is popular among QRP enthusiasts because it is light weight and cheap. It is also used as a portable antenna for Field Days and other similar events. I decided to see if the W3EDP antenna could be optimized by adjusting the counterpoise lengths for each band. Figure-1 is a diagram of the original W3EDP antenna.

  6. The picture above shows the "new W3EDP antenna" which has an unsymmetrical wireman-feed ("Zepp") and a balun 1:4. At the end of the twinlead-feeder a feedpoint impedance in the range of 200-500 Ohm with some complex part +/-j X Ohm.

  7. W3EDP Multi-band Antenna. An Unorthodox Antenna, originally by W3AWH is considered a multi-band antenna suitable for fixed location use and as an easily deployable portable antenna for events such as Field Days.
