2 mar 2013 · W231 is the only powder I used for pistol calibers. So far I use them for 380acp, 9mm, 40s&w, 45acp, and 44mag. I do use different charge weights for each caliber with the exception of 40 and 45 which I use the same.

3 cze 2017 · The handloader must determine what OAL works best for the particular combination of bullet type, powder charge, feeding thru magazine and smooth chambering. That's why we're always asking those that come here with feeding/chambering problems if they've done a "plunk" test.
6 cze 2013 · I chose 2 loads, both with W231 (all loads loaded out of the same can of powder); 4.4grs & 5.6grs. I loaded both charges in the 38 cases at both the upper crimp groove (loaded short) and the lower crimp groove (loaded long).
29 sty 2013 · I have been using w231 exclusively for my STI 5" Brass: Mixed. Bullet: 180 grain Bear Creek Bullet FP. Primer: CCI SPP. Powder W231 4.7-4.8 grains. COAL: 1.175-1.80. Crimp: .420 ish . I really really need to get out to the range and chrono this load to see if I make major.
