So i decided to turn off Intel Turbo Boost to see if I could get better results, and to my surprise I was capping at 65/70°C. The only downside is that performance took a big hit: I had to turn down resolution scale to 100 and tweak some other settings just to reach 144fps.

Turning off turbo boost just lowers the clock speed all the time. Running too hot causes thermal throttling, which lowers the clock speed when too hot. Not hugely different, but at least with turbo boost you have higher performance until you get too hot.
