However, it's not the same way for how normal Festive weapons are named. Festive weapons function exactly the same as normal weapons. The visual additions are purely cosmetic changes, and have no effect on gameplay. They were added to the game during the Australian Christmas 2011 update, the Mecha Update, and also during the Smissmas event updates of 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
Killing a player with an Australium weapon adds a golden glow behind its kill icon, but does not convert them into pure Australium statues, unlike the Golden Wrench, Saxxy and Golden Frying Pan. Some Australium weapons can be festivized.

Here is my hot take on festives vs Australiums. Festives are way better. Original festive weapons are associated with old school players and sometimes changes the weapons look. Festizivers add cool lights and can be applied to almost every weapon. They are both cheap compared with Australiums.
