I downloaded the app on my phone, connected it to my controller and it told me to download the firmware on Windows 10, which I then did. On launching the updater, it tells me to "Plug in the wireless USB dongle to your PC" even though it is already plugged in. Hell, I've even used the controller wirelessly to play on PC so it definitely works ...
