8 mar 2022 · Plots for 2-element 10m single support delta loop quad. vertically polarized wire quad. When you can set your antenna up looking across salt water in the target direction, say, from Ho’okipa, Kodiak, or Ham’s Bluff, then a vertically polarized signal can work very well over long distances.
This antenna is being built for 10 meters centered at 28.400 Mhz. Approximate Resonant Feedpoint Impedance = 135.777 Ohms before added matching section. Approximate Free-Space Gain = 7.03
A Quad is a balanced antenna, and should be fed in a balanced manner. To this end, I use a choke BalUn at each feedpoint. At the 30, 20 and 17m feedpoints, I use 12 turns of RG58 wound as shown in the drawing below.
Several of you have asked for a plan of the 4 element quad that several of us have built. This antenna is a proven performer! It features: 1) 9 to 10 DBd forward gain, 30 DB front-to-back ratio, and 33 DB front-to-side ratio. 2) Direct-connect feedpoint with no matching devices. 3) Compact and lightweight, less that 4 feet long.
12 paź 2015 · Cubic Quad. The cubic quad is a very popular way to get reasonably high gain and excellent front to back ratios as well as low angles of radiation for without going to extreme heights. Includes design for 2 6 10 12 15 meter bands. Quad calculator.
The five elements of this quad antenna are the reflector, a driven element and three directors. The reflector is at one end of the boom, followed in order by the driven element and the first, second and
Antennas & Projects 20.1 ANTENNA BASICS very ham needs at least one antenna, and most hams have built one. This chapter, by Chuck Hutchinson, K8CH, covers theory and construction of antennas for most radio amateurs. Here you’ll find simple verticals and dipoles, as well as quad and Yagi projects and other antennas that you can build and use.
