Matplotlib supports multiple categories of markers which are selected using the marker parameter of plot commands: Unfilled markers. Filled markers. Markers created from TeX symbols. Marker Reference. You can choose any of these markers: Format Strings fmt. You can also use the shortcut string notation parameter to specify the marker. This parameter is also called fmt, and is written with this syntax: marker | line | color. Example. Mark each point with a circle: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt. import numpy as np.
1 Plot Symbols. By default, there are 39 symbols that can be used for the data points of a plot or a scatter graph.
