18 lis 2014 · This can be achieved using a named range and a custom function in PowerQuery: Name the cell you need to refer (type in a name into the file left of the formula bar) - e.g. SourceFile. Insert a new blank PowerQuery query (PowerQuery ribbon -> From other sources) In the PowerQuery editor, go to View -> Advanced Editor.
9 maj 2020 · That’s it, we’ve learned how to change the Power Query source based on a cell value. All it takes is a few named ranges, and a few short lines of M code. Now any user can easily change the cell to re-point the query to the correct source data location.
14 mar 2018 · This is now much easier to do with newest version of Excel (O365): you can simplify declare a variable in the PowerQuery request using advanced editor, indicate that the variable value has to be fetched from an Excel table, then refer to the variables in the following steps.
Value from Excel cell directly to Power Query. This tutorial explains how to get value from a cell in sheet into a Power Query. Obviously, it only works in Excel – not in Power BI. Power Query can´t take value from a cell using reference like “C2”, but it can work with an inserted table.
