8 kwi 2008 · The Pontiac Trans Am Turbo was not nearly as fast as it looked, although it was quick by the standards of its time. The tail spoiler was at least mildly functional — testers found Trans Ams far more stable at 100 mph (160 km/h) speeds than were Firebirds without the aero addenda.
8 lis 2013 · I recently purchased my first 1980 Turbo Trans Am. I am working on a few issues with the motor. I found this plug and I am not sure if it suppose to be plugged into anything.
13 paź 2021 · The main issue was perhaps that, thanks to the higher compression from the turbo boost, these engines typically had to run premium unleaded fuel—which could be difficult to come by at the time.
19 lip 2005 · A friend of mine has a 1981 Turbo TA that he has asked me to help him tune up. He had the motor rebuilt in it and it has not run right since. The car accelerates smoothly throughout the rpm range, it just doesnt have any power. It doesnt like to idle either.

14 mar 2021 · It's a real weirdo. Along with being a historical standout as the second turbocharged American V-8, the turbo 301 is also the last Pontiac V-8 to power a Trans Am.
