The osu! wiki is an open-source knowledge database written and maintained by volunteer contributors. It contains a wide range of information on topics related to osu!, its community, and related activities and concepts.
Osu! [a] (stylized as osu!) is a free-to-play rhythm game originally created and self-published by Australian developer Dean Herbert. It was released for Microsoft Windows on 16 September 2007, with later ports to macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. [citation needed]
osu! has four built-in game modes with different mechanics, originally inspired by other rhythm games: osu! To switch between modes, click the Mode button at the bottom of the song selection screen for osu!(stable), use the buttons on the top of the screen for osu!(lazer), or use these key combinations:

osu! is a free-to-play rhythm game primarily developed, published, and created by Dean "peppy" Herbert. Inspired by iNiS' rhythm game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, it was released for Windows on 17 September 2007. The game has throughout the years been ported to macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
These are the 4 current game modes of osu!. The converting game mode can be changed in-game with a selection at the bottom-left of the screen in singleplayer song select, or with a shortcut CTRL+(1-4).
