JP-8, or JP8 (for "Jet Propellant 8"), is a jet fuel, specified and used widely by the US military. It is specified by MIL-DTL-83133 and British Defence Standard 91-87, and similar to commercial aviation's Jet A-1, but with the addition of corrosion inhibitor and anti-icing additives.
JET B is a civil grade of wide cut type aviation turbine fuel which has a different freezing point (-50 o C) from F-40 (-58 o C) and does not normally contain FSII. For further details about these fuels, see Annex C to STANAG 1135.
NDF F-76 is utilized in propulsion and electric generating systems, and JP-5 jet fuel is used for aircraft operations and as an emergency fuel for systems utilizing F-76. Since the conversion from NSFO to F-76, there has been interest in an additional conversion to a shipboard single-fuel operation.
