I would like to install a switch in my 8 with which i can manually turn the cooling fans on and therefore not have to wait for the ECU to decide that boiling coolant isn't a good idea. I have installed a coolant temperature gauge so i could see the effect.
4 wrz 2021 · Primary fan temperature (oem 97) advised to be 85C to 88C. Secondary fan temperature (oem 101) adviced to be 90C to 95C. Idle RPM. (oem hot coolant set at 790 to 810 depending on the map referenced) Because of the construction of the oil pump, the oil pump doesn't have sufficient flow at lowest idle RPM.
If you are only overheating when stopped or at a low crawl, the problem is most likely a fan airflow problem. Either the fans are running when they should be, or your radiator is getting blocked. Safely stop the car and shut the engine off and see if you can find an obstruction to the radiator or fans.
