18 sty 2021 · Champions that have sustain, and can survive burst do well into malphite. Good sustain and AP are the way to beat Malphite in lane. Shields like Riven's and Urgot's can be hard if they're smart and block your Q with it. Anything that isn't focused around auto-attacks.

10 paź 2022 · Darius is a tank killer that thrives against immobile targets and loves a sustain fight, so yes he counters Malphite. Not a hard counter, because Malphite still has some tools to make problems, but Mal can't do much except for some poking 1v1. Darius maybe grabs a kill or two, gets a farm lead.
28 mar 2023 · Malphite would be significantly stronger if there were actual dodging penalties. Counter play is to get r5 and counter pick malph with sylas or morde or pray riot gives him ryze treatment. Besides that he wins against the whole top roster and wins every trade once he gets steelcaps. Play Sylas, ez counter.

There are some counters like Sylas, but countering Malphite Mid is more of a knowledge check than anything else. --- EDIT: Because this post is getting some traction, I want to give the other side of this advice as well.
21 wrz 2023 · You can't punish his weak early game. Malphite is terrible against tank (or juggernaut), he can do nothing in 1v1 and they can just ignore him and take plate/farm him. Mundo has sustain, mixed damage, waveclear, %current health damage. Don't forget Malphite's hardest counter, Sylas.

Malphite wants you to be in his Q range, I played malphite vs jax, and, I destroyed that jax, but when he was closer than me he almost killed me, you have a better damage combo than him, he only has his Q to poke you. It’s just a bad matchup, you can’t really win it at all.

Because most top laners are AD, and Malphite gets damage by building Armor, thus countering pretty much all top lanes that uses AD.
