13 lip 2023 · Advanced BCC includes locally advanced BCC (laBCC) and metastatic BCC (mBCC). A retrospective US cohort study reported that laBCC accounts for 0.8% of all BCC cases (age-adjusted incidence rate: 1.83 per 100,000 persons, which is projected to 4399 cases in the US population).

Other risk factors include age, male gender, occupational hazards, radiation, and immunosuppression. BCCs are not typically staged but are instead stratified by their risk of recurring or metastasizing. Locally advanced BCCs are those tumors that are not amenable to surgery or radiation therapy.
