Once the speaker/soundbar is connected to the network, software updates will automatically be sent to the speaker/soundbar through Wi-Fi or the internet, if available. Applies to: JBL Boombox 3 Wi-Fi. JBL Authentics 300. JBL Authentics 500. JBL BAR 1000.
Download the latest software version from JBL.com and bin file: Unify.BIN. Prepare one empty USB Stick and create a new folder (named “UPG”) in the root directory, then copy the bin file to the new UPG folder. Please mount the two detachable speakers onto the main Soundbar and subwoofer upgrade port to AUX input, then power on the Soundbar.
Software updates for your speaker can be done using the JBL Portable app. Download it from the Apple App store and Google Play store. If there is an available update, look for the small red dot above the gear icon and follow the download instructions (see image below).
