Goodall went on to study natural sciences and ethology at the University of Cambridge, funded by the renowned anthropologist Louis Leakey. In 1960, Leakey offered Goodall the opportunity of a lifetime : to study chimpanzees in the wild at Tanzania's Gombe Stream National Park.
