23 paź 2024 · Using your knowledge of how to factor both lone numbers and variables with coefficients, you can simplify simple algebraic equations by finding factors that the numbers and variables in an algebraic equation have in common.
Step 1: Factoring Numbers. First off, what is a factor? "Natural number factors" are the complete set of whole numbers, where if you multiply one number in the set by another in the set, you get the number that you're factoring. For example, the number 5 has two factors: 1, and 5. The number 6 has four factors: 1, 2, 3, and 6.
How to factor algebraic expressions using the GCF. In order to factor out the GCF from algebraic expressions: Find the \textbf{GCF} of all terms in the expression and place it in front of parentheses. Divide each term in the expression by the \textbf{GCF}. Put the divided terms in the parentheses.
