Guam is a U.S. territory in the western Pacific Ocean, at the boundary of the Philippine Sea. It is the southernmost and largest member of the Mariana Islands archipelago, which is itself the northernmost group of islands in Micronesia.

It is the westernmost point and territory of the United States, reckoned from the geographic center of the U.S. In Oceania, Guam is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands and the largest island in Micronesia. As of 2022, its population was 168,801.
Guam is situated about 2,100 km (1,300 mi) east of the Philippines and about 1,800 km (1,100 mi) north of Papua New Guinea, the island lies on about the same latitude as Bangkok, Thailand. Guam belongs to the Mariana Islands of Micronesia.
