As long as you do not go to a location where a new mission is triggered (colored letters & icons on the map) and step into the circle (or go near it).

Edit: Doing a clean re install of the Rockstar launcher fixed this issue. When I launch the game I get a window asking me to activate the game and when I click okay, it asks for a key. I've input the cd key from steam and it tells me it's already in use. I haven't changed Rockstar accounts or steam accounts so I have no idea what's going on? Well not realy, a friend explained to me the solution, the GTA 5 Engine is badly coded, if you exceed 150 fps the game will start to malfunction. i have a 144Hz monitor and caped it at 144fps with vsync. It worked. No need to lower the framerate further. If i can give you a tips is to explained ppl the solution.
