11 maj 2021 · You can look up a DEA number by using the practitioner’s name or their National Provider Identifier (NPI), a 10-digit number that is used to classify health care partners, including all payers. After every three years the DEA registration must be renewed. An applicant’s DEA number may be invalid because his license has expired.

First, check the 2 letters. The first will usually be an A, B, or F . Sometimes an M. The second will be the first letter of the prescriber's last name. In this case it's "N" Next, check for the check digit. This number checks out since the second digit in our total matched the last number in the DEA #. If it was anything but 0, it would not.
