Doing what you suggested would typically result in a FoV of 20~50 for monitors and 10~30 for TVs. This is an unacceptable FoV setting for the majority of 3D games due to how much it restricts your vision of the game's world. Sure, it's the "correct" setting, but it's useless for gaming.

Generally, there is not a “best” setting for the field of view, but it comes down to your personal preference, the size of your screen and how close you are to it.

16 gru 2019 · You can change this in your windows settings. Once you're in 4:3, you can stretch it to fill your entire monitor if you wish. I don't do this, as it looks horrible and blurry and provides no actual advantage over just having the black bars. Feel free to add me if you need help.
