Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. The fear of the Lord is his treasure. Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin.”.
We need to make some important distinctions about the biblical meaning of “fearing” God. These distinctions can be helpful, but they can also be a little danger.

Or Isaiah 66:2 says, “This is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.”
A healthy fear of God allows you to recognize that God has always been the one in control. It allows you to turn over your fears of losing control to Him and trust He can handle things. The Bible is clear when it comes to the fear of God.
