Genealogy of Ephraim. 20 Ephraim’s descendants included Shuthelah, his son Bered, his son Tahath, his son Eleadah, his son Tahath, 21 his son Zabad, his son Shuthelah, his son Ezer, and Elead.
Ephraim was born in Egypt before the arrival of the Israelites from Canaan. [3] The Book of Numbers lists three sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Beker, and Tahan. [4] However, 1 Chronicles 7 lists eight sons, including Ezer and Elead, who were killed in an attempt to steal cattle from the locals.
According to the Hebrew Bible, the Tribe of Ephraim (Hebrew: אֶפְרַיִם, ʾEp̄rayīm, in pausa: אֶפְרָיִם, ʾEp̄rāyīm) was one of the tribes of Israel. The Tribe of Manasseh together with Ephraim formed the House of Joseph. It is one of the ten lost tribes. The etymology of the name is disputed. [1]
