The Eastman School of Music is the music school of the University of Rochester, a private research university in Rochester, New York, United States. Established in 1921 by celebrated industrialist and philanthropist George Eastman , it was the first professional school of the university.

Students applying for a bachelor of music degree will apply directly to the Eastman School of Music through their online application. Students applying for a dual degree (BM plus a BA or BS), will also need to submit an application to the College at the University of Rochester .
The School offers the degrees bachelor of music (BM), master of music (MM), master of arts (MA), doctor of musical arts (DMA), and doctor of philosophy (PHD). In addition, the performer’s certificate (PC) and the artist’s certificate (AC) both recognize outstanding performance ability.
