There are other launchers out there that will work on Linux (I think the GDLauncher, and I've heard a bit about a PolyMC fork of MultiMC). I should also point out that I am not saying that CurseForge is perfect either.
The official way to install AddOns. Curseforge has been acquired by Overwolf and stops serving a free API for updating Addons. So this is the only way to install/update addons for WoW under Linux.
11 maj 2022 · CurseForge, the popular game modding client, has now officially released an early Alpha version for Linux. Since it's early, and they're starting slow, for now it only supports mods / addons for World of Warcraft (Wine) although they do have plans to continue expanding it.
The link that is provided takes me to a forum post where an admin answered a question about Linux support from 2020. I suppose what you want to link is to the official CurseForge download here. This is still in Alpha. Which is why World of Warcraft is the only thing supported.
