  1. This review discusses the process engineering of chlorophyll extraction from microalgae. Different chlorophyll extraction methods and chlorophyll purification techniques are evaluated. Our preliminary analysis suggests supercritical fluid extraction to be superior to organic solvent extraction.

  2. 1 wrz 2020 · Chlorophylls and carotenoids can be extracted from microalgae using various solvents. However, there is lack of studies regarding the comparison of extraction yield of these pigments from wet and dry microalgal biomass using different combination of cell disruption methods.

  3. 1 sty 2010 · This review discusses the process engineering of chlorophyll extraction from microalgae. Different chlorophyll extraction methods and chlorophyll purification techniques are evaluated. Our...

  4. The process of extracting chlorophyll from marine microalgae begins with dewatering and desalting the highly dilute microalgal culture (biomass concentration 0.1–1% w/v). Chlorophyll is then extracted from the dried biomass by organic solvent extraction or supercritical fluid extraction.

  5. 20 kwi 2024 · This “new ABS” is capable of recovering all the chlorophyll present in fresh microalgal biomass, thereby demonstrating the feasibility of a closed loop systems for chlorophyll extraction and reuse, accomplish the main circular economy principles.

  6. 17 mar 2023 · This study also investigates the kinetics of chlorophyll and carotenoid extraction from mixed microalgae at different operating conditions with methanol solvent for the first time.

  7. 20 lut 2023 · The effect of extraction temperature (40–60 °C), duration (5–25 min), solvent-to-biomass ratio (20–90 mL solv /g biom), and microwave power (300–800 watts) was investigated regarding the extraction yield, extract’s chlorophyll, carotenoid and phenolic content, and antioxidant activity.
