It may be easier for the player to organize their own Tray folder or this could change the owner of the object or change what lot the item is saved on. Once a lot or household is placed in-game you are free to delete it from the library or tray folder.

1 wrz 2015 · 1. Go to your Sims 4 folder C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 2. Right-Click on your Saves folder and copy it to the external hard drive. 3. Do the same with your Tray folder, if you want to save your household and lot files.
27 paź 2016 · Mods/CC are located in the Sims 4/Mods directory, and Sims, Lots, and Rooms you've made are stored in the Tray folder. There are also Recorded Videos and Screenshots folders here. These five folders contain everything most players would want to backup.
10 lis 2023 · The Tray Folder works similarly to the mods folder in that all you have to do is place your files in there and, like magic, they will appear in the game! If you’ve been eyeing content outside of the Gallery that you’ve been hesitant to install because the process seems intimidating, worry no more.
So you can download someone else's household or build and add it to your game by simply placing the provided files inside Tray. The files need to be directly in Tray, not in a subfolder, and they need to be unzipped. The Tray folder is only for saved library items, not mods or custom content.
5 sie 2024 · The easiest way of getting the right files are to save the household/build again, and then sort the Tray folder on Most Recent Changed; copying all the files with the same, and latest, timestamp. In my playsave I try to keep the Tray folder empty, and instead keep the files for my builds elsewhere on the computer, for backup.
It would be a good idea to backup the households/houses/rooms you don't currently use but may want to keep to an external hard drive or flash drive for safe keeping. Save the whole Tray folder itself, and copy/paste the current files into your current Tray folder.
