MODIS. The MODIS program consists of two satellites Aqua and Terra, that pass around the Earth covering the entire Earth once every 24hrs.
6 wrz 2017 · Both MODIS and VIIRS hotspot detection data is available straight from the source at https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/firms/active-fire-data. The current fire activity layer also includes smoke information from the NOAA hazard mapping system ( HMS ), typically updated every several hours.

8 wrz 2020 · We’ve also been improving our public fire data, beginning with the recently-released GOES fire detection layer (seen in the above photo). Adding live GOES imagery was the next logical step, but it proved to be more difficult than we expected.
