The highlight of the museum permanent exhibition is the Borodino panorama painted by an outstanding Russian battle artist Franz Roubaud (1856-1928). The canvas, 115 meters in length and 15 meters in height, depicts the decisive episode of the battle between the Russian and French armies near Borodino village on September 7, 1812.

Muzeum panoramy bitwy pod Borodino (ros. Музе́й-панора́ма «Бороди́нская би́тва») znajduje się w Moskwie na terenie dawnej wsi Fili przy Prospekcie Kutuzowskim 38. Zostało otwarte w roku 1962 z okazji 150–lecia bitwy z wojskami Napoleona I.
The panorama of the Battle of Borodino is the museum's main exhibit. The painting is 115 meters long and 15 meters high. The artist chose to depict the decisive moment of the battle - 12.30 p.m. on the 7th of September - when the most vivid and typical events in the battle took place.
The “Battle of Borodino” Panorama Museum is located in the west of Moscow, not far from Poklonnaya Gora, on the site of the former village of Fili near Moscow. Its central exhibit is the artistic panorama “Borodino”. This is one of the largest paintings in the world at 115 meters long and 15 meters high.
In the center of Moscow, on Kutuzov Avenue, there is the historical and memorial complex dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812, the center of which is the museum-panorama Battle of Borodino. This is the only museum in Russia displaying the details of 1812 war - from the invasion of Napoleon's army in June to its expulsion in December.
