8 sie 2022 · Black Howler Monkey Characteristics. Alouatta caraya [1] is found in the tropical rain forests of central South America, extending through eastern Bolivia, Paraguay, southern Brazil, and northern Argentina. Alouatta caraya has long and powerful prehensile tails.
DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. Central South America. They are typically found in deciduous rainforests. BEHAVIOUR. They have a strong gender dimorphism, adult males are black and adult females are yellow-brown. Their tails are hairless on the underside, which allows them to be sensitive to touch.
