Standard edition is deprecated. Special Edition is the norm, and Anniversary Edition is just SSE + a bunch of creation club content. Both of these have support for the same mods, so go for AE if you want CC content, go for SSE if you just don't care. Skyrim Special Edition is the one you want.

27 lip 2023 · But as FEAR said, the latest version is the best one to use for modding. You only use 1.5 if you already have that version and have yet to update, because one of your mods requires .net (which hasn't been updated), or you have a major build and don't want to update. New modders should be on 1.6+

The game version number is the only thing that matters and it only matters for a subset of mods based on SKSE called SKSE plugins, which use a dll file. Virtually all SKSE plugins have been updated for 1.6.640 of the game and you will have plenty of mods to choose from.
