Looking at getting a monitor for my laptop, was also thinking it can be a backup screen for when the TV's busy. What size / resolution works best for the PS3? (I also have a PS4). Like I'm guessing a 4k wouldn't be worth it. Should I just go for something like a 22/24 inch full hd with hdmi or should I spend more on some worthwhile feature.
I’d suggest a 1440p monitor if you are just using it for your PS3. Because most games on the PS3 render in 720p and 1440p is an exact 2x upscale unlike 4K. However if you must have 4K I’d look into finding a very clean 60hz IPS or VA panel monitor.

15 lut 2008 · I'm running a ps3 on a samsung 226bw (22 inch) with a hdmi-to-dvi cable. The picture is very good but my monitor (and the one you linked) have a native resolution of 1680x1050. This means 720p content (most ps3 games) will be upscaled and 1080p content will be downscaled.
27 wrz 2024 · The best budget gaming monitor we've tested is the AOC Q27G3XMN. It's a 27-inch, 1440p monitor that has better picture quality than most other low-cost displays. It uses Mini LED backlighting, which is something mainly more expensive displays have, so it's a nice touch for an entry-level monitor.
I've been using my ps3 with my tv for the longest time but my dumb little brother hogs the tv (which is connected to a pc as well as my ps3 and ps4) now for "work". I'm considering buying a monitor that I can use to output my ps3 on using hdmi.
