AXA announced today that it has completed the sale of its Belgian banking operations, AXA Bank Belgium, to Crelan Bank NV/SA (Crelan), for a total consideration* of Euro 691 million, comprised of (i) a net cash consideration of Euro 611 million** , and (ii) the transfer to AXA Belgium of 100% of Crelan Insurance*** (valued at Euro 80 million).

Axa Bank Belgium is a retail bank owned by Crelan since 2019. It was formerly part of Axa Group's European banking arm, which was renamed Axa Bank Belgium in 2017.

24 paź 2019 · AXA has agreed to sell its Belgian banking operations to Crelan for Euro 620 million, and to enter into a long-term insurance distribution partnership with Crelan. The transaction is expected to strengthen AXA's balance sheet and focus on preferred segments.
This merger, which represents the culmination of the process begun with Crelan's acquisition of AXA Bank Belgium at the end of 2021, will create a more robust financial entity capable of better serving our customers and cooperative members by pooling our respective expertise.
