Sample Rate is the number of samples of audio carried per second. The default Audacity sample rate can be chosen in Audio Settings Preferences . This page describes the minimum sample rates appropriate for different audio media.

30 maj 2019 · If you open a file in Audacity the sample rate will be shown in the lower-left corner (“Project Rate”). To check the bit depth or other details, try [u]MediaInfo[/u]. Several of my internet searches say that Windows properties has this information but I don’t see it (only has kbps).
27 wrz 2023 · It’s been moved - Go to Audio Settings and change the Project Rate to what you want. BTW - MediaInfoOnline is a handy way to check the file format & details. (Or there is a version you can download and run locally.)
15 paź 2023 · Audacity works in 32-bit floating point internally and when you open a file it gets up-converted. The sample rate (kHz) doesn’t normally change, or if you open more than one file the Project Rate will be set to match to the 1st file and that’s what you’ll get (by default) when you export.
Real-time and High-quality: Both the Sample Rate Converter and the Dither (for conversion between sample formats) have options for use in different circumstances. The " Real-time " options are only used when converting sample rates or formats for playback in Audacity.
