Ambient occlusion allows for more realistic shading. Rule of thumb for most of the postprocessing/simlar effects: if you need performance, turn them off or at least down. You'll have to turn it off in the actual game itself. This option only applies to games you've chosen to apply Nvidia's implementation to.

Click on the drop-down menu, and set to ‘ Performance ‘, or Off if you have a low-end PC. For a modern PC, you can set it to ‘Quality’ instead.

9 gru 2019 · My advice is to go simple. Don't use Nvidia Control panel to set up games. Set global and game settings at default. Then use the in game settings to turn on/off the settings you mentioned....
