27 wrz 2022 · I've tried three different external lav mics with my iPhone 12 Pro Max paired with Airpods Pro, and each time my phone displays a message stating to use a compatible audio device. With two of my mics I tried the genuine Apple headphone jack adaptor, and the third was an actual lighting wired mic.
get an external mic: Probably the best solution for over-all quality is to use an EXTERNAL microphone and use THAT as your input device. That way, you can disable the microphones on the Airpods as per instructions below, and they will default to great Stereo sound no matter what.
