Yellowcake is a solid form of mixed uranium oxide that is generally yellow in colour. It is produced from uranium ore from mining or in-situ leaching. Yellowcake is shipped from the mine and processed at licenced facilities for conversion, enrichment and fabrication into nuclear fuel.

Yellowcake (also called urania) is a type of powdered uranium concentrate obtained from leach solutions, in an intermediate step in the processing of uranium ores. It is a step in the processing of uranium after it has been mined but before fuel fabrication or uranium enrichment .
Yellowcake, chemically U3O8, is a uranium concentrate powder recovered from leach solutions. Yellowcake is an intermediate step in processing uranium ores and nuclear fuel production. Typically, yellowcake can be obtained through the conventional milling and chemical processing of uranium ore, forming a coarse powder.
