West Branch is an American literary magazine based at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, published by the Stadler Center for Poetry. The magazine, which was founded in 1977, publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and literary criticism. Since 2021, the magazine's editor-in-chief is Joe Scapellato.
West Branch offers a competitive, semester-length, non-paid internship for qualified Bucknell sophomores, juniors and seniors who may wish to pursue a career in publishing.
The editors of West Branch welcome submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and translation. We normally read unsolicited manuscripts between August 1st and April 1st. We print only original, unpublished work. For accepted work, we purchase First North American serial rights.
