17 lut 2021 · Vuescan should be applauded for keeping older hardware going, being great value and offering a platform for further editing in Negative Lab Pro. Silverfast is the most complex but for me offers the flexibility of editing later if using their archival suite.
I have used VueScan Pro for 25+ years as a hobbyist. I have used it with both HP and Epson flatbed scanners, as well as a Nikon CoolScan 5000 film scanner. I have never had an issue with VueScan.

VueScan Professional is available for $89/99 for a life-time license, which can be used on up to 4 computers, this makes it great value for money. A cheaper version is available from $39/49 but does not support film/slide scanning.
Vuescan is excellent, professional level scanning software, compatible with almost every scanner. Learn it once, use it with any scanner!
