Felipe Ortiz Rose (born January 12, 1954) is an American musician who was an original member of the disco group the Village People. While in the group, he performed as "The Indian", [2] usually wearing a costume consisting of an imitation, "bespangled war bonnet", [3] loincloth, and theatrical face paint.
Morali met the first recruit, Felipe Rose (who claims American Indian descent and dressed in costume as "an Indian" [10]) in a New York gay bar called The Anvil. Willis hand-picked Alex Briley (who initially appeared in nondescript costumes before switching to G.I. uniforms).
