2 kwi 2004 · I've reloaded for the 22-250 for years, and recently settled on Varget as my go-to powder. In my Ruger Predator, I've found 39.5 grains and the 40 grain VMax give the best accuracy with no signs of pressure.

12 maj 2022 · The .22-250’s case volume allows it to use powders that are a little slower than those used in smaller varmint cartridges. A good powder to start with is Hodgdon’s Varget. It is usually very versatile with various bullet weights, is not particularly sensitive to temperature changes, and delivers top-notch accuracy with minimal experimentation.
9 gru 2007 · Varget 34 grs with 50gr Ballistic Tips or 50gr V-max (my Kimber shoots both touching). I also use it in a 17 Rem and a 284 Win repeater. It cuts down on my powder storage.
17 paź 2019 · I have just started loading with varget powder in my 22-250 Remington 700 VS. The first was using 34 gr with speer 52 gr bthp and had 2 case head separations had to replace the extractor backed the load down to 32 gr of varget and still had case head problem.

16 paź 2008 · Re: Most accurate powders for the 22-250. My factory Remington 700 VSF shoots well with 36.2gr Varget behind 55gr V-Max. These are seated to -5th off the lands. I've also played around a bit with H414 behind 52gr SMK, but haven't settled on a load yet.
Varget - Suprform Ratio, 93.7%. H4895 - Suprform Ratio, 95.0%. Hodgdon Superformance powder is the top performer in the .22-250 Remington cartridge with a Hornady 60 grain V-max bullet. Varget and H4895 fall some five to seven percent below Superformance in MV.
