14 paź 2009 · So, yes, those ports on the front of your case WILL convert to USB 2.0 ports as long as they are connected to a USB 2.0 controller. To make the best possible match, ensure that you have proper cables for your task:

9 lis 2016 · The rear has 2 USB1.1 for the keyboard and mouse, and 4 USB2.0 data ports. I would surmise the 2 fronts are USB 2.0, but you can test the data speed with the same thumb drive in either front USB port versus any rear USB 2.0 with HD Tune version 2.55 (freebie).
12 gru 2006 · Unfortunately, upgrading from USB 1.1 to 2.0 requires more than software; it. actually requires new hardware. The good news is that the hardware is typically inexpensive. In addition, depending on the 2.0 device, it’s possible, though not guaranteed, that it’ll. work just fine with your 1.1 interface. But it certainly won’t hurt anything to try.
17 cze 2021 · The answer unfortunately is no. The cable itself is 'dumb', its the driver and usb interface which determine communication type. You could try to downgrade the driver to a usb1.1 but I doubt you'll find a driver for that which is compatible with the usb interface hardware.
12 gru 2005 · I have gone the PCI upgrade route with a 5 port (4 external, 1 internal) USB 2.0 PCI card on my desktops. It is painless, and you still have your 4 1.0/1.1 ports for older or slower...
