The Biology Student Colloquium is a day-long event featuring the various research interests of our graduate and undergraduate students. The colloquium is typically held on the last Friday of February. The colloquium is sponsored by the Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society and the Department of Biology.

A day-long event featuring the research interests of graduate and undergraduate students in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Held annually on the first Friday of April, students can present posters or talks and compete for awards.
The department offers various seminars and events for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in different areas of mathematics. Colloquium is one of the seminar series that features distinguished researchers presenting their recent work to a general mathematical audience.

Last Friday’s (Jan 16th) colloquium was a smashing success. With a fantastic turn out, this colloquium far and away holds the current record for the most attended colloquium in the Texas State Department of Geography and Environmental Studies in 2024.
Yet, despite the current climate, relatively little is known about this pan-ethnic minority group that is plagued with prejudice and discrimination. In this colloquium presentation, I will discuss the predictors of prejudice towards Arab/Middle Easterners and how this problem is complicated by the conflation of religion and ethnicity.
